A perfect way to improve your skills in Portuguese language is to read newspapers and magazines. Also, you can listen and watch news at radio or TV, but the focus here is on reading. Why?
There are no special tricks or tips. Simply, the more time you spend, the better results you will get. If you want to improve your ability to read and want to have a fluent level, then, you must to do the same as the natives do: read in their daily lives.
